The search:
Head Of Supply Chain
Our client, an international home and DIY organisation was recently acquired by a larger group. Due to the integration of both businesses’, the board decided to restructure and implement a centralised supply chain.
The brief from the CEO & HR Director was to find an established Head of Supply Chain from a £100 + million turnover business who could lead and implement a complex and multi-faceted supply chain project. Whilst working closely with other key divisional heads in the business including inventory, procurement and logistics, the role was responsible for leading the development of the global sourcing strategy.
How we did it
Working closely with the CEO and HR Director, we spent time understanding what the appointment really looked like on a day to day basis, where the business saw itself over a three – five year period and how the individual who would be hired would impact the business from day one.
Identifying the relevant organisations was the straightforward piece of research, finding the right profile and cultural fit for the organisation was where our work and expertise came into play.
Along with full interviews with all long list and shortlisted candidates, we in addition administered various testing including psychometrics and other skills testing. This was used as a tool to support the interview and decision process to build a more improved holistic view of candidate’s expertise.
The search was an international one and the appointment was made to a European candidate who then relocated and joined the London Head Office playing a successful role in the group’s new growth and strategy.
